Carpal tunnel syndrome is a common nerve disorder that affects the hand and the wrist. It usually affects adults and occurs in women much more than men. The carpal tunnel is a narrow, tunnel-like structure in the wrist. The bottom and sides of this tunnel are formed by wrist (carpal) bones. The top of the tunnel is covered by a strong band of connective tissue called the transverse carpal ligament.

Paul Cesar N. San Pedro, MD, FPOA

Dr. Paul Cesar N. San Pedro graduated from the University of the Philippines with a degree in Biology. He completed his internship at the Philippine General Hospital and was a resident doctor in Orthopedic Surgery and Traumatology at the Philippine Orthopedic Center. He received further training in Adult Reconstructive and Joint Replacement Surgery at the Louisville Institute for Joint Replacement in Louisville, Kentucky.
